From Wisconsin to Germany: Logan Gaida’s Journey

How passion, adversity, and a foundation at Rush Wisconsin shaped a player’s path to the professional game

My name is Logan Gaida, and I currently play for TSG Weinheim in Germany. Adjusting to life here has gone well, but like any major change, it came with challenges. Early on, everything felt new and demanding. That adjustment forced me to grow quickly. The pressure helped me develop confidence and adapt to a completely new environment, both on and off the field.

My soccer journey started in California, where I was first introduced to the game through my family. When I moved to Wisconsin and joined Rush, that’s when soccer truly took off for me. My time with the club shaped how I think about the game, helped build my skill set, and pushed me to grow as a competitor. It was a turning point that set me on the path I am on today.

For younger players who want to reach their full potential, it starts with passion. You have to love the game and enjoy the process. But passion alone is not enough. Growth comes from being willing to face challenges and push through difficult moments. It means working consistently toward your goals, training with intention, and continuing to develop your mindset. That combination is what separates players and helps them move forward.

Looking back, it is hard to choose just one favorite memory from my time at Rush. There were so many meaningful experiences, from competing in major tournaments to traveling and playing overseas with Rush National teams. Each opportunity helped me grow and see the game from a different perspective.

One moment that stands out is the Wisconsin State Cup. During that tournament, our team pushed to a level we had not reached before. We competed against strong opponents and showed how much we had developed over time. We finished second, which was disappointing in the moment, but that experience represents everything I value about soccer. The competition, the intensity, and the connection within the team made it unforgettable. It remains one of the most meaningful stretches of my career.

Playing in Germany now, I carry those experiences with me every day. The lessons I learned through Rush continue to shape how I train, compete, and approach new challenges. I am grateful for the foundation that was built and excited to keep building on it.
