From YDA to Graduation: Celebrating Bea Norman

From YDA to Graduation: Celebrating Bea Norman

At Rush Wisconsin, we often talk about long-term development and creating an environment where players can grow not only as athletes, but as people. Few players represent that journey better than Bea Norman.

Bea is one of the very few players to come through nearly every stage of our club, Bea began her journey in our Youth Development Academy and has remained a part of the Rush family through graduation. Along the way, she developed into a leader, role model, coach, and an outstanding young woman who embodies what it means to be Rush.

As she reflects on her time with the club, Bea credits Rush with helping shape both the player and person she has become.

"Looking back on my journey with Rush, it’s hard to put into words just how much this club has impacted my life. Coming through the Rush program, I grew not only as a soccer player but also as a person. The confidence I gained on the field carried over into every aspect of my life, and I will forever be grateful for the Rush experience."

"Rush taught me the importance of hard work and discipline, but more importantly, it taught me how to be a leader. Whether that meant setting an example through my actions, encouraging teammates during difficult moments, or helping create a positive team environment."

"One of the things I am most grateful for is the relationships I have built throughout my time with Rush. Some of my closest friends and most meaningful memories have come from this program. The bonds formed through years are something I will carry with me long after my playing days are over."

"As I prepare to graduate, I am incredibly thankful for everything Rush has given me. The coaches, teammates, and experiences I’ve had here have helped shape my character and prepare me for the future. Rush has been much more than a soccer club to me, and I will always be proud to have been a part of it. Rush for life!"

The impact Bea has had on those around her is reflected in the words of the coaches who have worked with her throughout her journey.

“Bea Norman is a player that every coach dreams of having on their team,” said Director of Club Operations Matt Tebo. “She’s committed, hard working, a leader, and overall a great player and wonderful human being. When you get to know a player and person like Bea, you just know they will go on to do great things.”

“Bea has been a lifelong Rush athlete,” added Jon Szczepanski. “She exhibits all the Rush Core Values and applies them not just to her soccer commitments, but life in general. Bea’s attitude, work rate, and ability to be coachable have contributed to her success and development into a valued leader on her teams. She is a tremendous role model for younger Rush female athletes.”

Coach Daren Milton reflected on the character that has made Bea so respected within the club.

“One of the kindest, most responsible, and quietly driven soccer players I have worked with. While her soccer abilities are impressive, they pale in comparison to her character. Whether through her commitment to her team and teammates or her work supporting charitable causes in our community, Bea is an unassuming but formidable force. Her enthusiasm and heart should be an inspiration to both peers and coaches alike.”

Executive Director Jess Nash had the opportunity to coach Bea as a young player and later work alongside her through Rush Wisconsin’s Emerging Coach Program.

“As a coach, there is really nothing better than watching a player grow and develop into an awesome human being on and off the field,” Nash said. “For Bea to want to give back to the sport and learn how to coach just speaks volumes about who she is as a leader and person. She has always brought an amazing light and energy into every environment she has walked into, and I can’t wait to see what she accomplishes in her next chapter.”

As Bea prepares for graduation, we want to thank her and her family for the many years they have invested in Rush Wisconsin. Players like Bea leave a lasting impact, not simply because of what they accomplish on the field, but because of the people they become and the example they set for others.

We are incredibly proud of the player and person Bea has become and cannot wait to see what the future holds for her.
